What to do. What to do...
I don’t know what to do anymore.
My parents just told me that I can’t go to film school.
My mom says she doesn’t care which program I study, just as long as I graduate from an accredited university. I don’t think she understands what she’s saying, but let me just dissect this for a moment…
I went to a university for one year. For psychology. And it was not...

I GOT IN!
Well, I got an offer anyway.
They really don’t have any down-time, do they? My advisor from VFS sent me an acceptance email this morning, telling me that the writing department LOVED my samples, and they’re so excited to have someone of my calibre joining their school soon.
At least that’s what they tell me anyway.
The head of the writing department also sent me a personalized...

Um. What.
So after spending a whole day writing and re-writing, I submitted my 20 page application to VFS last night.
To prove how ‘diligent’ they are, they immediately sent me an email the morning after, telling me that my writing was approved for acceptance.
Normally, I’d be jumping for joy, but this made me scratch my head a little. I highly doubt they really read my 20 pages, and...

VFS: School tour!
So I finally went on the tour that I scheduled with the lovely lady on the other end of the phone two weeks ago.
I left the house an hour earlier, and arrived there way too early, so I took a walk around the block. I recognized the park across the street from the VFS building as the park that they blew up in a scene from Alcatraz! So that was pretty cool.
Anyway, I went inside and waited to...

Review: The Divide.
God. That was so fucked up.
Honestly? This movie wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
Sure, the some of the dialogue was a bit awkward and completely unnecessary at times, but the filmography and the general idea behind the movie was pretty cool.
Okay, so the whole strangers-in-a-cramped-space have been overdone to death, and the Divide really doesn’t bring anything...

Film school.
I’ve decided. I want to go to film school.
To be honest, it was always what I wanted to do. Write TV shows or movies, but my parents were never really supportive. After seeing me wander aimlessly around for two years, wasting precious time and money trying to find something I’m passionate about, but to no avail, my parents decided to let my pursue this path…
And I guess...

Review: The Darkest Hour.
What the fuck.
I’m not even kidding. This was just bloody awful.
The characters were dull as rocks and the acting is B-grade at best. I mean, dude, (I’m not gonna even say spoiler alert, because I’m saving you two hours here) your ‘friend’ just stole your idea million-dollar idea, sold you out, and now you guys are two broke idiots with nowhere else to go, and all...

Review: Face Off.
I LOVE this show.
I’ve always been intrigued by special effects when I was younger. I personally think it’s much more interesting (though less practical) than normal beauty makeup.
What I love about this show is that it focuses on the actual quality and creativity of the creations. The judges are fair and thoughtful, and almost always the person who did the best really do get the...

Review: Wanderlust.
God. I was so disappointed.
I watched this movie with a guy friend, and he was asleep for 3/4 of the movie.
I mean, I had such high hopes for this movie. Paul Rudd, Jennifer Aniston, an interesting story… what could possibly go wrong?
I think the main problem with the movie is that it’s too focused on trying to outdo itself in vulgarity and whimsy, but it all really just comes...

Review: Love.
Ah-mazing.
I don’t think I’ve ever said that about any Taiwan (or Chinese language) film in my LIFE.
I don’t know what it is. Maybe it stems from my own Taiwanese culture, or the fact that I think that all Taiwanese TV shows are just bloody awful, I’ve always steered clear of any Taiwanese cinema. It just weirds me out.
Honestly, I never would’ve seen this movie...

Review: Pan Am Season 1 Finale!
Here be spoilers!
I personally think Pan Am is a incredibly underrated show. The characters are captivating and interesting, and each of them all have stories that don’t make me want to drink myself to death out of boredom.
This is why I’d be very upset if it isn’t picked up for a second season. I mean, the way the show ended has so much potential for a drama-filled and...

Review: The Three Musketeers.
I didn’t have high hopes for this movie.
I mean, sure, the movie’s chock-full of entertainment. Explosions, muskets, excellent wardrobe choices and feathered hats. What else could you possibly want?
A plot, maybe.
I have a feeling that the writers got bored about halfway through the movie (just like I did) and just decided to throw it against the wall to see if it’d finish...
